The Adappt Personal Training team collectively have over 50 years of experience between them. They have trained hundreds of individuals, all with a vast range abilities and exercise goals.
If you are new to personal training, you may have certain concerns and questions that you would like answered. This page is designed to help you feel more confident about the things you may be unsure about.
If there is anything that we have missed please feel free to email us directly with any questions at all that you may have.
What is personal training?
Personal training at Adappt is about your trainer working with you to form an understanding of your physiological and psychological needs.
Using that information, your trainer will design a programme of exercises to help you achieve your goals.
Your trainer will provide motivation and coaching on:
· how to exercise safely and effectively · how to begin to integrate a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
to live a happier and healthier life.
How will my trainer help me achieve my fitness goals?
The first thing your trainer will do is establish what your fitness goals are!
You will receive a free, no obligation consultation which will allow you to get a feel for the studio and your trainer; you can be certain you will feel comfortable before booking your sessions.
The consultation gives your trainer an opportunity to: · undertake a ‘needs’ analysis to begin understanding what it is you want to achieve · establish S.M.A.R.T (Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic and Time bound) goals so you have a clear objective to work towards · determine your likes and dislikes of exercise · establish your physical ability, time availability, dietary habits and all the other necessary information that they need to help you.
By keeping a regular check on your specific goals, your trainer can make sure that things are moving in the right direction with your exercise sessions.
Will the exercises be difficult for me?
No, not difficult, although depending on your goals, you may be challenged. This is essential to help your body evolve and change shape. Your trainer will only prescribe exercises that are suitable to achieve your goals; they will ensure that you have the ability to perform the exercises safely and effectively.
Will personal training at Adappt help my stress levels?
Yes.
Stress causes the body to build up the hormone adrenalin in the blood stream. Adrenalin is produced when we are under pressure, angry or overworked.
Exercise helps regulate adrenalin and takes excess tension away from the muscles.
How long before I see results?
This depends on what your goal is, how often you exercise and how healthy you eat.
For weight loss, the average person exercising three times a week will lose between one and two pounds of fat a week.
If you eat healthily, your results will be quicker than if you exercise on a poor diet. However, we are confident you will feel more energised and refreshed after your first session and will want to make the necessary changes to achieve your goals.
I have occasional muscular /back /joint pain; can personal training help?
Yes.
Corrective exercise is about recognising the biomechanical imbalances around the joints/muscles that may be causing your discomfort.
Your trainer will then start correcting those imbalances with very specific exercises, stretches and therapy techniques while working towards your goals.
This will result in improved posture, flexibility, muscular strength and a decrease in joint discomfort and pain.
How often should I visit Adappt?
You can visit Adappt as and when you see fit.
To get the most out of the experience you should come at least once a week. However, you may train as often as you like, with a maximum recommendation of four times a week, as your body needs rest just as much as it needs exercise.
Once you are established with your trainer, you can liaise directly with them regarding time availability for both of you. You can then book your sessions depending on your free time and budget.
Can I just turn up when ever I want to?
Adappt is an exclusive, personal training studio. There is no public access to Adappt without your personal trainer.
We ask that all clients book training session directly with their trainer, in advance, for maximum customer satisfaction and to avoid disappointment.
How much does it cost to train at Adappt?
Adappt does not operate like a conventional gym. We have no joining fee, no monthly subscriptions and no contracts.
Our clients just pay for the sessions they use and all trainers offer a discount on block booking. Most sessions last one hour – but this is up to you and your trainer to decide. If you want shorter – or longer – then let them know.
Each trainer at Adappt has their own pricing structure. For more information on the pricing structure, please choose a trainer from those working at Adappt and contact the trainer that suits you best. Once you have contacted them, you can discuss all your needs, including costs.
If you have other questions regarding how Adappt can help you change your life, please contact Danny or Paul with your questions. They will get back to you either by email or by phone (if you give them your number). Please feel free to contact them at any time. |
